Antitrust and Competition
Praised as the ‘go-to firm for merger filings in Indonesia’, Assegaf Hamzah & Partners acts for clients on a wide range of matters, from general competition and compliance issues, to cartel investigations and merger notifications. Key work highlights include assisting in the submission of an acquisition notification to the Indonesian Competition Commission (KPPU) by a subsidiary of Sinopec, and supporting Sinochem throughout the entirety of the merger control process. The practice regularly collaborates with the firm’s disputes team to handle competition litigation, as well as the corporate group to advise on compliance issues with Indonesia’s antitrust regime. HMBC Rikrik Rizkiyana leads the team and has considerable experience advising on high-end merger clearances in Indonesia, while Farid Nasution, who previously worked at the KPPU, is noted for his expertise in merger filings and competition disputes.

Banking and Finance
Assegaf Hamzah & Partners is part of the Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP Asia network and as such, is well placed to handle regional deals. Assegaf Hamzah & Partners handles high-value and high-profile capital markets deals for companies, underwriters, financial institutions, and investment banks, advising on domestic and international public and private debt and equity offerings. Practice head Putu Suryastuti has over 20 years’ experience of IPOs, secondary offerings and private placements, with a focus on the financial services, telecoms, aviation and manufacturing sectors.
