Aviation

Eri Hertiawan defended Indonesia AirAsia Extra in a tort action brought by passengers seeking damages for being prevented from boarding one of its flights due to one of them being on Air Asia’s blacklist. Assegaf Hamzah & Partners has broad capabilities in banking and finance, including structured finance, project finance and trade finance. Ahmad Fikri Assegaf heads the practice and recently advised Indonesia Infrastructure Finance on infrastructure financing through a two-step loan with the World Bank and Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero). Capital Markets
Assegaf Hamzah & Partners has a strong track record in equity and debt issuances in Indonesia, and clients include Bank Mandiri and Telkom. Practice head Bono Adji recently advised Credit Suisse on the issuance of senior notes by Japfa Comfeed, and also acted for MedcoEnergi regarding its shelf offering. Ahmad Fikri Assegaf acted for Credit Suisse in the issuance of senior notes, and assisted Sritex with unconditional and irrevocable guarantees given by the client and subsidiary Sinar Pantja Djaja. Assegaf Hamzah & Partners has expertise in ship financing, marine casualties and collisions, cargo claims and securitisation. Eri Hertiawan represented the crew members in the Bali ferry explosion case, where two people were killed.
