Tunggul was made partner at Assegaf Hamzah & Partners in 2012, having been with the firm since he graduated as a lawyer in 2001. He now focuses his practice primarily on capital markets, M&A, banking, and project finance. Having advised both issuers / underwriters on a host of debt and equity offerings, many of them global, as well as M&A, and banking and finance deals, he possesses a wealth of experience and expertise working with both domestic and transnational companies in the mining, financial services, broadcasting, plantation and oil and gas sectors, to name but a few.

A 2001 graduate in law from the University of Indonesia in 2001, Tunggul was awarded an LL.M in commercial law in 2011 by the Erasmus School of Law, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He also holds an advocate's license from the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi).

Experience

Among Tunggul’s recent significant deals, he advised Indonesian energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk on its IDR 1.5 trillion bonds issuance, coal mining company PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk on its USD 500 million notes issuance, and commercial real estate developer PT Multikarya Hasilprima on its IDR 500 billion bonds issuance. He has also played key roles in a variety of transactions for AHP’s retainer clients, such as private equity house Recapital (acquisitions, financings and refinancings, and asset disposals), national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia (corporate and operational actions, like quasi-reorganization, aircraft procurements and business unit spin-off), petrochemical company Chandra Asri (acquisitions and debt refinancings) and the diversified Indonesian conglomerate Barito group (acquisitions).
